Aiboland is a long-term documentary project presented as a visual essay focusing on the Swedish-speaking minority of Estonia. The work navigates the intersection of history and the present moment, examining a community grappling with a heritage of occupation and subsequent exile.
A deliberate, unifying visual melancholy defines the pictorial narrative. The core footage was captured from 2012 to 2018, and the project remains open to continued development.
